Dr Lokesh Bisati is a consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist in Chelmsford, Essex, with over 20 years of clinical experience and more than 15 years at consultant level in the UK. He assesses and treats mental health, behavioural and neurodevelopmental difficulties, working closely with young people, families and schools.

A consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist with more than 20 years of clinical experience, based in Chelmsford, Essex.
Dr Bisati has over 20 years of clinical experience in psychiatry, including more than 15 years at consultant level in the UK. He has worked across outpatient, inpatient and crisis settings, and has carried out emergency psychiatric assessments in A&E departments, on paediatric wards and in community environments.
His particular expertise is in mental health and behavioural problems in children and young people, alongside neurodevelopmental conditions including ADHD and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). He is highly experienced in prescribing and monitoring psychotropic and controlled medications.
Since 2015 he has run private outpatient clinics at the Priory Hospital Chelmsford, assessing and treating a wide range of mental health conditions in children and young people, including ADHD. He also provides private outpatient services at SphereView Medicare, alongside his NHS role as a Locum Consultant Psychiatrist with NELFT NHS Foundation Trust.
Dr Bisati takes a holistic, patient-centred approach. He works with young people, families, schools and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated and personalised care. He also arranges referrals for psychological therapies, occupational therapy and educational support, so that each young person's needs are covered.
Dr Bisati completed his medical degree (MBBS) at Mysore University, India, before undertaking postgraduate psychiatric training in the UK. He gained Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) in 2006 and was awarded his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in December 2009. Broad training across several psychiatric subspecialties gives him an understanding of mental health across the lifespan.
Throughout his career Dr Bisati has led within multidisciplinary teams and contributed to service development, clinical governance, safeguarding practice and quality improvement. He is actively involved in teaching, supervising and mentoring junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.
